3 Amazing Magnesium Oil Products (And The Benefits of Each)

Magnesium Oil

There are many ways to increase your magnesium intake, from foods to pills to powders. However one of the most interesting ways to increase your magnesium levels is by using magnesium oil.

Why would you want more magnesium?

Well, magnesium is a mineral that is necessary for more than 300 functions in the human body.

It helps regulate everything from muscle contractions to calcium absorption, to the hormones that we produce. Magnesium helps create energy that keeps you going, and can prevent significant health risks, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

Magnesium is found naturally in plants and animals, so we consume it in many of the foods we eat. Unfortunately, years of scientific research show that many people are magnesium deficient, likely due to poor food quality.

So to maintain healthy magnesium levels, you can take an over-the-counter pill or powder supplement.

However, you can also use a topical magnesium oil, which is often easier to use and provides some key benefits that oral supplements can’t.

So which is the best magnesium oil? Read on to find out.

While my wife and I have been taking magnesium supplements every day for years, I can't say how they might affect you. Always consult a doctor if you have health concerns: don't try to self-diagnose!

Key Benefits of Magnesium Oil

When magnesium is absorbed through the skin (known as transdermal absorption or transdermal therapy), it isn’t processed by your digestive system, liver, or kidneys the way an oral supplement is.

Instead, your cells are receiving high concentrations of magnesium directly, which results in the following benefits:

  • Your body doesn’t have to work so hard to break down and absorb the magnesium.
  • More magnesium is available for absorption because it isn’t subjected to nutrient-destroying enzymes produced by the liver.
  • Your body receives magnesium faster, since it doesn’t have to go through long biological processes related to digestion.

Magnesium oil that is applied to the skin has also been shown to increase levels of the hormone DHEA.

According to the Mayo Clinic, DHEA production decreases after age 30, and low levels may contribute to hormonal disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, heart conditions, depression, diabetes, and a host of other health risks.

Magnesium oil can also be a better option than oral magnesium supplements because there are usually very few added ingredients in magnesium oil.

When vitamins and minerals have to compete against other minerals or ingredients (known as micronutrient competition), they lose their potency and ability to be properly used and absorbed by the body.

People who use magnesium oil sing often sing its praises for helping relieve the following ailments:

  • Migraine headaches
  • Restless leg syndrome
  • Muscle aches and soreness
  • Muscle cramps
  • Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Insomnia

Magnesium Oil Review

So with the wide range of products available, which is the best magnesium oil?

I researched many of the oils that are on the market, and below I've put together a list of what I've found to be the top three magnesium oils overall.

All three of the oils reviewed below include magnesium chloride as the main ingredient, which is a very popular form of magnesium for topical use.

Review Roundup: Best Magnesium Oil Overall

When compared to pill and powder supplements, I like that these sprays make it quick and easy to increase our daily magnesium levels.

Although using a magnesium oil can take some getting used to (not everyone likes the feel of oil), you can actually see and feel it absorbing into your skin. You don’t get that with a pill.

Another way that you know magnesium oil is working is that sometimes it stings a little. The stinging goes away after a few minutes, and after consistent use. So be careful using magnesium oil on freshly shaven skin, since it can sting quite badly (just like going into the ocean after you’ve shaved).

So which one do I think is the best magnesium oil?

Overall I'm most impressed by the Activation Products EASE Magnesium Oil Spray.

It’s a little pricey, and a bottle won’t last you as long as the other two sprays, but it is a very high-quality product with many positive reviews on Amazon. When it comes to my health I'm willing to pay what it takes to get the best result, making EASE Magnesium worth it to me.

I also like that it includes a 60-day money back guarantee, which makes it risk-free to give it a try.

As always, you are strongly encouraged to consult with your physician or other qualified medical professional to help determine your own optimal level of magnesium, and to see whether magnesium supplementation is right for you.

I recommend putting a Carrier oil on your skin first before spraying the magnesium oil on it. If I don’t do this my skin feels like it is burning and it last for several hours. If you put the oil on after you have sprayed on the magnesium oil it doesn’t protect the skin as well. Another good use for Mag oil is for children who are constipated and can’t swallow pills. Put on tho soles of their feet or on their calves.

I’m curious as to how it is physically possible for pure water and magnesium chloride (“Magnesium Oil”) to penetrate the skin when it is just a water based solution?
